Helping them move forward is an urgent challenge and critical to the future of our state, argue Foundations for Better Oregon Executive Director Whitney Grubbs and Children's Institute CEO Kali Thorne Ladd—and yet, we’ve heard astonishingly little about children throughout this year’s historic governor’s race.

"We will either accept unfinished learning, tragic mental illness, and generational trauma as a foregone conclusion, or we will shift course now to help every child heal and grow into resilient and thriving community members," write Grubbs and Thorne Ladd in today's Sunday edition of The Oregonian. "What we do to take care of our children today will determine the kind of Oregon we have for decades to come."
